Remember last year during the Presidential campaign when Hilary invoked the dreaded Republican Attack Machine and warned of its impending onslaught? How about all those years ago when she invented the VRWC (Vast Right-Wing Conspiracy), secretly formed to tear down her paragon-of-virtue hubby? How many times have you looked through liberals' blogs and read the patchouli-wearing Trotskyites' descriptions of conservatives? We are described as "evil', "heartless", "lunatics", "war-mongers", "sick", "delusional", etc. When liberals' hatred of W boiled over and began turning them into foamy-mouthed, red-faced mental patients, BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) was born. For some reason, the public listens to these descriptions of Republicans and then never asks the question: Why don't I ever see or hear any of this out of Republicans?
John McCain ran one of the wimpiest campaigns in memory. Of course, he was thoroughly petrified that someone would pull the race card on him and rightfully so. It wasn't whether or not the Obama campaign would pull the race card, it was how early and how often. Any claim by Democrats that we had entered a "post-racial era" in politics rang about as false and hollow as Johnny Cochran's claim that he wouldn't use race in defending O.J. Simpson. McCain came to the fight unarmed and Obama's corner men shanked him while the rules were being read.
Let's face it; Democrats fight dirty. They'll lie unabashedly, they'll cheat wontonly, they'll resort to scurrilious and baseless charges against their opponents, they'll attack friends and relatives of opponents. Dems are like the bad guys in professional wrestling. If they have to break a chair over your head to win, well so be it. The only time they won't fight effectively is when an actual enemy of the country attacks us. In that case, they find reason to blame America. Meanwhile, Republicans act like David Niven in some old movie, with prim and proper English manners, taking care not to utter anything that anyone anywhere may remotely find offensive. You can't help thinking that the fight isn't fair because it isn't.
The most compelling example in memory of just how vicious and unscrupulous Democrats are in their political in-fighting came with the case of Sarah Palin. This woman burst onto the public stage as a refreshing ray of light in an otherwise generally boring field of Republican politicians. Real Americans loved Palin instinctively because she reminds us of the kind of people who made America great. Tough, individualistic, unapologetically patriotic, conservative to the bone, and folky in a way that most of us can relate to, Palin represents everything that liberals hate. And they made no bones about expressing that hate. The fact that she was diverting some of the limelight off of the Messiah enraged them. The fact that she is a woman who rose to such heights made them apoplectic because, in their tiny, narrow minds, only liberal women can rise to positions of power. Conservative women, to them, are a joke because the Republican party is the party of old, white men.
The lengths that liberals have gone to in their attempts to discredit and destroy Palin are nothing short of incredible. Even after the election was lost and she had returned home to her job as Alaska's governor, the rabid dogs of the left hounded her with ridiculous ethics charges and a wide variety of shameless, false personal attacks. It isn't hard to justify tough political battling in the heat of the campaign but for what reason would the ceaseless digging for dirt continue when the race is over and the contestants go home? The answer lies in the nature of the left. They know no bounds or decency. They cannot be trusted with or without power but when they have it, they are outright dangerous because they will surely abuse it. Anyone who opposes them and dares to speak their opposition is fair game for any type of attack and so are all friends, associates and relatives, even minor children. How many liberal politicians came out and condemned David Letterman's remarks about Palin's teenage daughter? Don't bother thinking about it; you won't come up with any.
Democrats whine about an imaginary "Republican Attack Machine" and simultaneously perfect the politics of personal destruction. It's like a pack of hyenas tearing a zebra to shreds while complaining that the zebra was making fun of their silly laughs.
